New hires for complex risks and motor fleet

LV= Broker has expanded its commercial underwriting team with two new appointments.

Stephen Appleton has been appointed senior underwriter and is responsible for complex risks in the south west. He joins from NIG and has 19 years’ experience across commercial combined, motor trade combined and motor fleet.

Chris Hardiment has been recruited from Equity Redstar and joins as motor fleet underwriter. He will be based in Bourmemouth and responsible for developing new motor fleet business in the south of England.

The appointments bring the number of commercial underwriters at LV= to more than 120.

Commercial lines director Mike Crane said: “We had a great year at LV= Broker with a number of key account wins. As we continue to grow in 2014 we want to ensure that brokers remain at the heart of everything we do and these new appointments will help us do that. Both Stephen and Chris have valuable experience that will help us grow our business within the south and south west regions. This is a very exciting time at LV= Broker and we are delighted to have them on board.”

LV= is expanding its commercial lines proposition this year by increasing the maximum sum insured it will write to £50m.

 

 

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
