What will happen at Royal & Sun-Alliance (R&SA) when Andy Haste takes the reins later this spring?

Well some effect is already being felt. It seems that some of the staff have picked up on Haste's six-sigma GE management philosophy already - don't be alarmed if you hear R&SA staff chanting the mantra: "Individual prudential responsibility".

The major effect of Haste's official arrival will of course be a change of tack. At AXA SunLife, Haste's philosophy was: "If it moves, outsource it."

Of course, R&SA, with the purchase of loss adjuster PCS, has spent endless management hours and cash on `insourcing' claims and many other functions.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
