Charles Manchester's new MGA hires director

Manchester Underwriting Management has appointed Danny French as a director.

The new MGA said the role has been created as part of the company’s plan for commercial lines development.

French will report to chief executive Charles Manchester, who said: “Danny brings with him a great deal of experience and understanding of our market and his skills will be hugely beneficial for us and the brokers that we work with.

"This investment in expertise is fundamental to our planned growth and is a key factor in our development over the coming years”.

French was previously development underwriter at RSA and has also worked at Chubb and Markel.

French, whose appointment is subject to FSA approval, said: “I’m delighted to be working with the team at MUM. Understanding the issues impacting on the pricing of risk and setting a consistent approach for brokers will be key in the future and I am sure that brokers will be looking for that help and expertise to deliver the best to their clients."
