Jane Barker joins Marsh board

Marsh has appointed Jane Barker as non-executive director.

Barker has been chief executive of Equitas since 2007. Previously, she was chief operating officer of the London Stock Exchange.

Barker previously spent 14 years at Marsh, latterly as international chief financial officer.

Sir Peter Middleton, chairman of Marsh, said: "Jane Barker will be a tremendous asset to Marsh.

"With her extensive experience in the financial services industry and deep knowledge of the insurance sector, as well as her strong background in corporate governance, she will bring real value to our board and, ultimately, our clients."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
