Leaked email reveals Marsh to cut levels of management to bring brokers closer to the client

Reports have surfaced that Marsh will cut staff to reduce the levels of management at the broker.

The leaked email sent to staff yesterday afternoon (Thursday) was reported by the Insurance Insider to be from CEO John Doyle informing them the move would simplify the business, allow decisions to be taken by a broader number of workers and bring brokers closer to the client.

The move will see some workers move roles which the email said would allow Marsh to reinvest in new staff and technology, according to Insider.

Marsh were approached but refused to comment.

The news comes after the Insurance Times revealed today that Marsh is in talks for the acquisition of Scottish independent broker Clark Thomson - in what would be their first aquisition in 18 months.
