James Richardson suffers severe accident and steps down as MD of InsureandGo

James Richardson, one of the two main founders of insurance broker InsureandGo has suffered a severe accident at home which has left him with 23% burns to his body. As a result of this, he has stepped down as managing director of the company. Perry Wilson, the other main founder of the company and who is in charge of its day-to-day running and strategic direction, becomes managing director.

Following his accident, Richardson has decided to step down from being actively involved in the running of InsureandGo and spend more time at home with his family. However, James is maintaining his investment in the company.

Richardson was primarily responsible for developing the company’s online proposition and website. Having established a strong offering in this area, much of this has now been outsourced to specialist organisations.

Perry Wilson, managing director of InsureandGo said: “James has played a key role in working with me to establish the foundations for InsureandGo’s success. We now insure over two million people every year and have been identified as one of the fastest growing companies in the country. We are grateful to James for his invaluable contribution to the success of InsureandGo.”
