Liiba claims 98% London market share

The London and International Insurance Brokers’ Association (Liiba) has signed up more than 120 firms, about 98% of the London international broker sector.

David Hough, Liiba’s chief executive, said: “This is as good a result as we could have expected. We are delighted by the show of support, which gives us a renewed mandate to represent international brokers based in London.

“Just as we hoped, it has enabled us to sharpen our focus on our sector of the market.”

Some London members of Biba split to form Liiba last December, saying they wanted to focus more on London market issues.

Both groups are carrying out their subscription drives for the year.

Liiba members are responsible for handling premiums worth more than £25bn a year.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
