Steve Ormrod appointed trading manager.

Intermediary only insurer, MMA has appointed Steve Ormrod has as bespoke trading manager.

Ormrod joins MMA from Towergate, where he was personal lines underwriting manager. He has previously worked for AA Insurance Services and Provident Insurance in underwriting and sales development roles.

In a statement MMA said the newly created role would enable the company to offer brokers flexible trading models designed to meet their specific needs, particularly in the commercial lines area.

MMA has grown its commercial lines book 30 per cent in the past five years.

Ormrod will be responsible for the development and management of tailored business arrangements and programmes across the insurer's personal and commercial lines portfolios.

MMA commercial director Derek Plummer said: “We see the opportunities to develop bespoke trading solutions with our intermediary partners as an important aspect of the commercial lines strategy.

"There is a growing demand for greater flexibility in business arrangements reflecting the increasing demands from clients to have more tailored products and services to meet their business needs.”

Ormrod's appointment follows recent announcements on the arrivals of John Seaton, as underwriting director and Owen Hendry, as commercial development executive.
