Price comparison site points to positive market conditions saw its revenue and profits boosted in 2017 with insurance the group’s best performing division.

Overall revenues rose 4% to £329.7, with operating profit also up 4% to £94.9m.

Insurance revenues were up 12% on the year to £173.6m from £155.2m in 2016.

“Insurance growth has been very strong during 2017, helped by positive market conditions as well as internal initiatives such as pricing investments and additional online marketing,” said chief executive Mark Lewis.

“The first half was up by 18% and the second half ahead by 6% as prior year comparatives became tougher.”
