Aim Coreprotect research sheds light on broker sentiment

Research by after-the-event and legal expenses insurers Aim Coreprotect has found that most brokers are prepared to pay for legal expenses policies once referral fees are banned in April 2013.

The survey of 140 brokers found that:

  • 67.9% think that paying £1 - £5 for legal expenses is reasonable
  • Only 26.4% would pay more than £5
  • 93.6% thought the polices were of value to clients
  • Only 2.9% would consider not buying legal expenses policies were Aim to start charging for them.

The broker reaction towards personal injury claims insurance was much less positive:

  • 87.9% would not consider offering personal injury claims insurance
  • Only 2.9% already offered personal injury claims insurance
  • Only 19.3% thought that there was a demand for personal injury claims insurance.
