Former AMG director is one of several high profile appointments planned for loss adjuster

International loss adjuster, MYI, has announce the appointment of Andrew Dear as regional manager for the Midlands, based in their Birmingham office.

Dear joins from Merlin Claims, formerly AMG, where he was director of technical services, responsible for their major/complex loss and specialist investigation units.

In his new role, Dear will spearhead the development of MYI’s Midlands business, whilst also being involved with key national and international clients.

Commenting on Dear’s arrival, executive director, Graham Smart, said: “Andrew’s recruitment is part of our strategy to enhance our offering to key local markets and is one of a number of similar high profile hires that we plan to announce over the coming months.

We are delighted to have attracted someone of Andrew’s calibre. He is highly regarded both by Midlands and national clients and is a strong technician. We continue to see tremendous interest in our business across all UK regions and the Midlands is no exception - Birmingham is a distinct and very important market for us.”

Smart added: “We exceeded expectations in our last trading year and, on a comparative year-to-date basis, we have experienced a 54% growth this year, without the influence of any exceptional weather-related events. We continue to secure high profile, blue chip nominations and are involved in the some of the UK’s largest, complex claims. This keeps us well ahead of our five-year business plan and means we are able to continually attract the best talent in the profession – all of which underscores our niche model.”
