New chairman in Axis reshuffle

David Waller, Axis International Loss Adjusters founding chairman and managing director has stepped down from his role.

The move has prompted a management reshuffle.

Former deputy chairman David Jamison has become chairman with effect from 1 January.

London and European division director Peter Shortland has assumed the role of managing director.

Waller will continue to work with Axis as a consultant and a non-executive director, developing "specific internal projects".

In addition, Middle East division director Graham Whitelaw has been appointed to the board.

Axis said there would be further appointments to the board during the year.

The company has also completed a refinancing project, with a buy-back of externally owned shares and a share offer to staff.

In further changes, the company board will be supported by the operational management team.

This team comprises the regional directors , the chairman, managing director and client services director.
