Zurich Municipal and Cunningham Lindsey UK have launched CrimeLine, to deter property crime within the education sector.

Data from Zurich Municipal shows that 20 schools a week are damaged or destroyed by arson attacks and that 65% of all offenders cautioned for arson are aged 10 to 14. School arson cost £83m in 2004, a 13% rise on the year before, and a rise of more than 137% over the last 10 years.

CrimeLine comprises an advertising campaign made up of a series of hard-hitting posters and leaflets backed up by an 0800 freephone number, which individuals can anonymously call to report the identity of suspects involved in this property crime.

The hotline is manned 24/7 by Cunningham Lindsey UK technicians and loss adjusters. Allegations are to be investigated with Crimestoppers and the police involved as appropriate.
