Ex-group managing director of broker PWS Holdings, Peter Smith, and founder and ex-CEO of InsurE-com, Ralph Ehlers, have joined Lloyd's broker CRS.
Smith and Ehlers will take over the day-to-day management of CRS. The company said founders Richard Cole and Paul Leith-Smith will focus on servicing and developing the group's client base.
CRS said Smith and Ehlers were looking to build a significant new player in the international broking market and that CRS was looking to revolutionise its business, making the amalgamation ideal.
The company said central to its plans would be the future introduction of a ‘technologically advanced' intermediary IT system enabling CRS to trade with both clients and underwriters.
Completion of the proposal is subject to appropriate regulatory approval from the FSA.
