New managing general agent (MGA) Pioneer Underwriting has hired Amy Fu as a marine underwriter.
BMS Group launched Lloyd’s MGA Pioneer in April 2011 to underwrite a diverse portfolio of business with an initial premium capacity of £62.5m.
The team is led by managing director Darren Doherty.
Fu has joined from Swiss Re, where she worked in the Asian insurance market including its offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore.
Doherty said: "Having launched Pioneer in April, we are keen to attract the best talent to ensure our clients receive the full benefits of the underwriting model.
“BMS Group has made no secret of its ambition to grow the business, with underwriting being a core component of this growth. Amy will strengthen Pioneer’s current expertise and I’m looking forward to her joining the team.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
