Lloyds TSB is launching a web site for home insurance that gives consumers a panel of insurers' products to choose from.
Consumers list the level of cover they require before obtaining the range of quotations from several leading insurers: Axa, Gan, Independent, Norwich Union, Royal & SunAlliance and Zurich.
Lloyds TSB insuredirect offers the same product with uniform levels of cover across the entire panel so that price comparisons are like-for-like.
"The site has been specially designed to make it easy to use for those who want a fast quote," said Neal Jones, IT director at Lloyds TSB.
"Customers can interactively choose policy options on the quotation screen whilst watching the price change instantly."
Payment can be made either annually by credit card, or monthly through direct debit.
Both of these payment methods can be completed online.
The web site is integrated with the Lloyds TSB insuredirect home insurance call centre.
