QBE Europe makes changes at the top

QBE Europe chief financial officer David Winkett has moved to become chief financial and operating officer. His new role is part of a wide-ranging shake-up of the Australian-owned insurer’s European senior management, announced on Monday. Other changes include current chief risk officer Phil Dodridge taking on responsibilities for claims and underwriting review and reinsurance. The moves follow the departure of chief operating officer Kathy Lisson, who has left QBE for an external consultancy position in her native Canada.

Online tracking service launched

Online insurance broker Simply Business has launched an online claims tracking platform for customers, which it claims is the first of its kind in the commercial insurance market. Customers who track their claims will be able to upload photos and scans of receipts and damaged goods to speed up the process. The platform will be managed by Cunningham Lindsey, which expects to handle 3,000 claims in the first six months.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
