It builds on the two firm’s existing partnership

Ageas has announced that it has signed a new five-year deal worth £45m with Darwin Clayton – and independent UK broker.

The deal extends the firm’s existing six-year partnership with Darwin Clayton.

It provides specialist cover across a range of trade sectors including interior contractors, security, cleaning and facilities management and recruitment.

The news follows the departure of former Ageas chief executive, Francois-Xavier Bosseau earlier this month.

Ant Middle, Ageas’s chief customer officer said: “Next year Darwin Clayton celebrates its centenary and this longevity is due in no small part to their customer-centric ethos.

“They truly understand their customers’ needs and we’re delighted that they recognise our excellent products and customer focus and look forward to continuing our successful partnership for another five years.”

Ageas strengthened its partnership in 2017 with Darwin Clayton by introducing a bespoke online product for the small business sector called ’Darwinsure’ offering the insurer’s products online to the commercial sector.

Simon Henderson managing director at Darwin Clayton added: “Darwin Clayton has an industry-wide reputation as an expert in the provision of our specialist products for both retail and wholesale distribution.

“Over the last six years we’ve had a partner in Ageas who works closely with us to enhance that reputation and supports us with bespoke solutions for our customers.”

Darwin Clayton was formed in 1920 and led the way with specialist commercial products such as in the alarm and interior contractors’ sector.
