Ageas appoints two new experienced industry names to its UK boards

Ageas has appointed former Wonga chief executive Tara Waite to its Ageas UK boards.

Waite will serve as a non-executive director of Ageas (UK) Limited, Ageas Insurance Limited, Ageas Retail Limited and Ageas Services (UK) Limited.

Jeremy Haynes has also been appointed to the same position and will serve across the same boards as Waite.

These are the latest appointments in a string of management changes, as part of an ongoing restructure at Ageas.

Changes have included a new chief financial officer, and the appointment of four new regional underwriters.

Haynes has held senior roles at Zurich and RSA and was most recently a partner at Deloitte UK where he led engagements across actuarial reserving, capital, pricing and transaction diligence.

Waite also worked at RSA where she held senior roles including chief executive of the group’s business in Latvia and managing director of RSA’s SME and delegated authority business.

She then joined online consumer lending business Wonga Group, as UK chief executive, before taking over as Wonga Group chief executive, a role she held until January this year.

Andy Watson, chief executive of Ageas UK welcomed the appointments and said: “Jeremy and Tara bring to the Ageas UK boards very significant and varied experience that will be very valuable to us, and I am delighted to welcome them to Ageas.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
