Ardonagh Advisory expanding health and protection portfolio with broker buy

Ardonagh Advisory has acquired Solutions Healthcare as part of plans to grow its Scottish presence.

The Glasgow-based healthcare insurance broker offers advice on private medical insurance and employee benefits, including life assurance, critical illness and business protection.

The deal will see the business operate as part of Towergate Health and Protection, which forms part of the SME broking platform that Ardonagh Advisory is comprised of.

Iain Laws, chief executive of Towergate Health and Protection, said the acquisition would also “increase its presence in Scotland”.

“We’re actively exploring options to expand our health and protection portfolio across the UK and are able to support businesses of all sizes to take their next steps,” Laws said.

“We know that many companies are currently considering the future of their business and we have a range of opportunities available to help them achieve their ambitions.”

’Value-adding opportunities’

Solutions Healthcare was founded in 2014 by directors Alan and Evelyn Christie.

Evelyn Christie will continue to guide the business in a client-facing role.

“Our business has grown and enjoyed success over the years thanks to the strength of our relationships, our personally delivered service and our attention to clients’ needs,” Alan Christie said.

“We chose Towergate Health and Protection as the new home for our business as it will enable us to offer the same great service, as well as providing value-adding opportunities for our clients.”
