AssuredPartners makes new acquisition to help growth in south west

Broker group AssuredPartners has acquired South West Brokers Limited as it looks to deliver on its regional growth ambitions.

South West Brokers, which trades under the name of Westinsure Plymouth, provides insurance solutions to a range of commercial and personal lines clients.

The firm works with businesses across south west England including in Plymouth, Torbay and Exeter.

A statement announcing the deal yesterday (27 March 2023) said the move marked a “significant step” in AssuredPartners’ expansion across the south west following its purchase of PSP Group in 2021.

“Establishing a presence in Plymouth was a key strategic target for us following our successful acquisition of the PSP Group,” David Heathfield, chief executive of AssuredPartners UK and Ireland, said. 

“Combining our collective expertise will help to ensure that we become the leading provider of insurance broking services across the south west.”

‘Excited to combine’

AssuredPartners said the entire Westinsure team will remain in their current roles and continue under the leadership of managing director Brian Jones.

Jones said he was “keen to find a partner” to ”grow the business with”.

“I’m excited to combine our wealth of knowledge and be part of the rapidly expanding AssuredPartners’ footprint in the UK and Ireland,” he added.

Heathfield said: “Westinsure enjoys a very strong reputation across the south west and we are excited to work with Brian and the team as we look to continue our growth across the region.”
