The broker’s managing director believes ’there’s still no substitute for having our people on the ground’

Howden-owned insurance broker Aston Lark has today announced that it will soon be expanding its UK footprint by opening two regional offices in South Wales and Thames Valley.

The new locations will provide in-person support for clients, opportunities for employees and help the broker secure new talent as it continues with its mission to become the best and biggest British broker.

Warren Dickson, Aston Lark UK managing director, said: “We remain committed to establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships with our clients, to help them mitigate risk and achieve their goals.

“While technology enhancements have made it possible to service client needs from anywhere, we believe there’s still no substitute for having our people on the ground and embedded in the communities we continue to support every day.”

The move follows a series of acquisitions last year, including the purchase of the commercial direct marine book from Zurich-owned Navigators and General (N&G) to expand its product range for the marine line.

Hands-on help

In April 2022, Aston Lark was acquired by international broking group Howden and together the pair aim to create a standout full-service broker.

Dickson added: “While our business has changed over the years, as we have grown in headcount and capability, our core value of client care has always been a constant.

“Which is why, from a recruitment perspective, one of our key areas of focus in these regions and others will be account executive and account handler support, to provide that all-important hands-on help and guidance.”

In October last year, Aston Lark reported 75% growth in its yearly revenue to reach £160.1m.
