’He is a brilliant addition to the business and his experience and knowledge will be of great value to our team,’ says leader
Gallagher has appointed Steve Parker as managing director of its UK property broker, Vasek Insurance.
In his new role, Parker will lead a team of 80 staff that specialise in cover for landlords, unoccupied residential property, high net worth private clients, non-standard home and blocks of flats.
He will also be responsible for overseeing product development, building relationships with new and existing insurer partners and maximising routes to market.
Parker said: “I’m delighted to be joining Vasek and I am excited to work closely with the team to build on established specialism in providing tailor-made solutions to property owners with their harder-to-place risks.
“Vasek has a great track record for supporting brokers with bespoke solutions that work best for their clients and I look forward to taking this further.”
Experience
Parker has over 30 years of broking experience and has worked across both personal lines and commercial insurance during his career.

In his new position, Parker will report to David Birch, managing director of SME for Gallagher’s UK and Ireland retail division.
Birch said: “Parker is a brilliant addition to the business and his experience and knowledge will be of great value to our team.
“Vasek provides exceptional solutions in the non-standard property sector, empowering brokers to meet the unique risks and requirements of their clients. The team delivers crucial assistance to brokers serving property owners and landlords.
“I have full confidence that Parker will do a fantastic job of leading the team and developing our proposition.”
