Managing director says the appointments ‘significantly strengthen our team’ and puts the firm ‘in a great position to execute our growth plan’

Temporary and short-term motor insurance insurtech GoShorty has made three senior appointments to help it deliver “serious growth plans”.

The company has appointed the former managing director for personal lines at broker Bollington Wilson Group, Phil Evans, as its commercial director – subject to FCA approval.

Evans led this division until the broker’s sale to Arthur J Gallagher in February 2021. He has also previously worked as the sales and operations director at Carole Nash and director of operations at Autonet Insurance.

GoShorty’s founder and managing director, Andy Moody, said on the appointment: “Phil has an extensive track record within broking and, in particular, the motor sector. I am delighted to welcome him to GoShorty.”

‘Significantly’ strengthening the team

The broker has also appointed a new director of marketing and a director of data and pricing.

Graeme Stoker will become the broker’s new director of marketing, having previously been chief marketing officer at insurtech Honcho.

Matt Wood, meanwhile, joins the business as director of data and pricing from insurtech Wrisk, where he was director of insurance.

Moody continued: “GoShorty has serious growth plans and we are bringing on people across the business to achieve these.

“The arrival of Phil, Graeme and Matt significantly strengthens our team and their experience and expertise puts us in a great position to execute our growth plan.

“In the two and a half years since our launch, we have been on an incredible journey and doubled in size.

“Attitudes to car ownership are changing rapidly and people want to be able to borrow vehicles and take out cover as and when suits them.”
