What was your insurance industry highlight of 2025?

It is difficult to pick, but my top highlights are the fabulous launch of our new manifesto when the Minister came out to support our sector on her first day in office, the launch of the FCA’s CP25/12 ‘simplifying the insurance rules’ at our conference, which was the result of a lot of hard work between Biba and the FCA, and was very satisfying professionally. The third highlight has to be seeing our first national advertising campaign come to life with Ben the Broker spreading the positive messages about insurance brokers on multiple channels.

And finally, taking home a little silverware was a personal highlight!

What is your Christmas message for your insurance colleagues?

A massive thank you to the literally hundreds of brokers who give their time to the Biba family, you have made an enormous difference this year. The detailed information members provide to us on a variety of areas – such as where the regulatory authorisations process could be improved or where reporting could be streamlined, have subsequently become workstreams for Biba with the FCA that have now been actioned.

So, it’s great to get the get the Biba membership and regulator working in concert as we aim for a full symphony of more proportionate regulation!

What do you hope to find under the industry’s Christmas tree for 2026?

A Financial Services Bill to take forward the regulatory changes we are working on!

This is top of my Christmas list for 2026 because it is needed as the vehicle to deliver the change in key areas that we all want, for example with the FOS and SM& CR.

As well as the obligatory chocolate, it’s always good to have a surprise too, so you will have to wait for our manifesto launch on 14th January for the rest!

[ADVENT-REVEAL-END]
