Dave Connors, founder and chief executive of DistriBind, talks about the company’s entry for the Excellence in Tech – Service Provider award
Why have you chosen to enter the Excellence in Tech – Service Provider award?
We chose the Excellence in Tech – Service Provider award as DistriBind provides a digital workbench to improve and automate the exchange of data in the insurance industry, eliminating reliance on spreadsheets and significantly improving data visibility.
It is focused on delegated authority business and enables insurers, reinsurers, brokers and managing general agents (MGAs) to transfer and ingest data in their chosen format and in real-time.
DistriBind processes spreadsheets, XML and PDFs as well as receiving JSON via application programming interfaces (APIs) and its technology can help MGAs report their risk, premium and claim data to the insurers they are working with, without setting up separate integrations with each insurer.
What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
DistriBind is a digital data exchange delivering automated back office processing that can help all participants across the value chain, not just one.
Whether you distribute using traditional relationship-based sales methods or use digital distribution via app, portal or digital quote and bind, DistriBind can help improve your process.
DistriBind deserves this award because we represent a revolution in data transfer – by speeding premium and claims data transfer, our clients provide better services to their partners and customers.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning this award would solidify the effort and team work that goes into DistriBind on a daily basis. Industry awards are such a huge part of the year and the Insurance Times Awards are very prestigious, to even get a short list is a real achievement in itself.
In it’s 25th year there must have been thousands of applications and the fact that the teams and judges keep showing up and keep these awards alive, shows just why we wanted to enter the awards and how much it would mean to us, should we take the top spot.
