1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the MGA of the Year (under 100 employees) category?

Gareth Roberts, chief executive at Ventis

Since I established Ventis, the team has worked exceptionally hard, hitting and surpassing every milestone we set for ourselves.

We have grown the team from four to nine, expanded ahead of schedule into Scotland and Ireland and written nearly £20m premium – more than double our initial target.

While these metrics are a good measure of success, I really wanted to give the team a chance to celebrate and be commended for their performance.

Already the fact that we are shortlisted among a cohort of other excellent MGAs is recognition that what we have built at Ventis is something truly special.

2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

What made our entry strong is what makes Ventis strong.

We stand out in this market for our unrelenting commitment to broker service and market innovation.

On Acturis, we respond to brokers first 84% of the time, with our frontline team of real estate experts delivering consistent, high-quality underwriting.

Our fresh approach focuses on a core network of broker partners.

We have developed lasting partnerships built on reliable subject matter expertise and a commitment to responsiveness and that enables us to deliver exceptional results.

3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Winning this award would be the recognition that this team deserves for their hard work and dedication to the Ventis mission.

It’s not just about the numbers – it’s about how we work and the values we uphold.

I am a strong believer that the best businesses are first and foremost built around delivering the best results for clients and I am proud to have created an environment and built a team that champions that philosophy.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
