’I look forward to working with our colleagues and clients as we turn these risks into opportunities and support their future growth,’ says appointee
Marsh UK, formerly Marsh McLennan, has appointed Lisa Quest as its new chief executive.

Based in London, Quest will work with the senior leadership team to shape Marsh UK’s commercial strategy.
She will focus on strengthening and expanding client relationships across Marsh’s four businesses, as well as developing propositions that support organisations operating in the UK.
Quest will take up the role on 6 April 2026. She said: “The UK is renowned for its creativity, innovation and entrepreneurialism, yet many organisations of all sizes are navigating an increasingly volatile risk landscape.
“I look forward to working with our colleagues and clients as we turn these risks into opportunities and support their future growth.”
Experience
Quest joined Marsh-owned Oliver Wyman in 2006. Following time as a private equity investor, she returned in 2013, going on to be appointed as co-head of the government and public institutions practice in Europe.

In 2023, she was appointed to the additional role of head of UK and Ireland. She will continue to serve in this position upon taking up her new role.
She will also report to Flavio Piccolomini, international chief executive at Marsh, who said: “With her global leadership experience and management consultancy expertise, which has been honed with many of the world’s leading businesses, Quest is well-placed to steer our growth as we create and deliver exceptional services that support our UK clients and enable them to continue to thrive.
”Her appointment is testament to the deep bench of talent we have across the firm.”
Retirement
This comes after it was announced in November 2025 that James Addington-Smith would become chief executive of Marsh Risk UK, formerly Marsh.
Both Quest and Addington-Smith will take on their new roles when Chris Lay, who currently holds both roles, retires from the business in Q1 2026.
He is making the move after more than 40 years of service.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
