Insurance Times has today (18 January 2024) opened its 2024 eTrading survey, the results of which will form the basis of this year’s Five Star Rating Report: eTrading.

The market-leading publication now invites UK brokers to anonymously share their experiences from the past 12 months of using insurer extranet platforms and software house systems to digitally trade and secure covers for clients.

As each year passes, more products, services and innovations are being implemented on insurer extranet platforms and software houses, emphasising that eTrading is increasingly becoming a more standard way of doing business for a number of brokers nationwide.

Last year, approximately 1,000 brokers took part in Insurance Times’ eTrading survey, voting for their preferred insurer extranet, software house and insurer via software house system.

Brokers also use the survey to provide granular feedback on the broker management system their firm uses.

Insurers and software houses alike use brokers’ anonymous feedback from Insurance Times’ annual eTrading survey to transform their eTrading systems, meaning your views can really influence the future of eTrading.

2023 review

Broker respondents to 2023’s survey, who were trading via insurer extranets, gave Aviva Fast Trade and AIG Extra the maximum overall five star rating.

It was the fifth consecutive year that Aviva Fast Trade had been awarded an overall five star rating by brokers nationwide.

This was a huge achievement that no other insurer extranet has achieved so far. It will be interesting to see if Aviva Fast Trade can make it six years in a row!

Will AIG Extra secure a five star rating for a second consecutive year? Can Zurich Online reclaim five star status, after losing a star in the 2023 eTrading Survey?

The Insurance Times 2023 eTrading survey also sought to investigate how brokers perceive the experience of broker management systems.

Software house Acturis secured top spot among software house platforms for the seventh consecutive year. In this year’s survey, can Acturis secure the top spot for the eight year?

Every insurer has been making improvements over the year, so it remains to be seen which one will be awarded an overall five star or four star rating by brokers in the 2024 eTrading Survey.
