’Farmers can benefit from both effective risk management but also crucially, business resilience and efficiency,’ says head

Geo Underwriting has partnered with Merit Advantage on a risk management app tailored to the needs of farmers and estate managers.

The app works via QR codes, with every asset being given an individual QR code that allows farmers, estate managers and their staff to scan and run a check before using it, or upload service and inspections records such as fire safety checks or annual servicing.

Users will also have access to innovative farm mapping technology, which highlights any areas on farms and estates with potential hazards.

Kate Bush, head of agriculture at Geo Underwriting, explained that as many of many of its team actively participate in farming alongside their professional roles, the insurer has a deep understanding of the “unique challenges farmers face”.

She said: “Time and costs are not on farmers’ side and we believe that with the Merit Advantage app, farmers can benefit from both effective risk management but also crucially, business resilience and efficiency.

“We’re thrilled to be able to partner with the experts at Merit Advantage, who have designed risk management tools specifically for the farming community.”

Discount

Customers who purchase a Geo Underwriting agriculture policy through their broker will get a 5% discount on a subscription to Merit Advantage.

Jon Stewart, director of Merit Advantage, said: “We’ve worked in partnership with the British farming community to develop an app that improves and automates management processes, saving time and money.

“We’re delighted to partner with Geo Underwriting to offer our app to their customer base, along with an associated premium discount.”
