’We apply a disciplined, individually underwritten approach to this complex market,’ says managing director
Acies MGU has launched a new MGA specialising in ports and terminals risks, backed by a consortium of Lloyd’s capacity.

Called TEDmar International, the business will provide cover for P&T operators and port authorities, offering protection across liability, property, equipment and operational risks.
The MGA’s appetite includes risks such as port buildings, warehouses, hard standings, cargo handling equipment and ancillary port craft.
Mark Heath, chief executive at Acies MGU, said: “Acies is keen to establish a strong presence in the marine market and we’re confident that TEDmar offers that first vital step in demonstrating our ability and expertise in this complex market.”

The new business will be led by marine insurance specialists Mark Trevitt and Charlie Newman.
