QBE joins Biba as a partner

Biba has welcomed QBE as a partner, according to an announcement made yesterday (6 December 2023).

Graeme Trudgill, chief executive of Biba, commented: “QBE is a leading global insurer with an established footprint and track record in the UK.

”It has become an important partner to regional brokers and I very much welcome them into the Biba family.

”Our broker members are keen to access their technical expertise and I am sure our members will find the wide range of products offered by QBE of great interest.”

Andy Fitzgerald, director for UK regions for QBE European Operations, commeted: “This year, we have focused on increasing our broker support with the appointment of heads of trading in our regional offices.

“As a result, we have materially grown our regional business during the last 18 months.

“We’ve been clear that growing our business in the UK is a priority and we are delighted with the progress we are making. Partnering with Biba is the next logical step on that journey and we look forward to supporting even more Biba members through this partnership.”

The announcement comes after QBE expanded its UK trading team as the insurer looks to bolster its relationship with brokers in Scotland and Northern Ireland earlier this year (3 October 2023).

A statement said the firm was planning to grow in the UK through to 2027 and was building it out its trading team to engage with broker partners.
