’We hope the broker lounge will, in time, become the key meeting point for many of our broker partners,’ says chief underwriting officer

Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI) has opened a bespoke lounge in its London office to act as an access point for brokers to collaborate with teams across the business.

The insurer said in a statement today (19 April 2023) that the lounge would be based on the seventh floor of the Walkie Talkie building at 20 Fenchurch Street.

It comes after the business announced in August 2022 that it would consolidate its London market operations in one site at the Walkie Talkie.

Following the completion of the move, the business said it was now “opening its doors” to the broker community.

Simon Button, chief underwriting officer for TMHCCI’s London market operation, said: “Our growth over recent years has been outstanding and consistent, resulting in the relocation to the Walkie Talkie building.

“Following the completion of our office move, we have created a dedicated space for brokers to come and meet our people.”

‘Key meeting point’

TMHCCI said the broker lounge has a multi-use purpose, with space for formal business meetings, more casual catch ups and dedicated broker events hosted by the company.

It also said the lounge “is bright and open with panoramic views across London”.

It will be open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Button added: “We hope the broker lounge will, in time, become the key meeting point for many of our broker partners to build even stronger relationships for the benefit of our mutual clients.”
