Addressing delegates at the ABI’s annual conference, Nicola Sturgeon said she wants to work with the financial services sector, “in particular” the insurance sector.

Nicola Sturgeon has pledged to work closely with the financial sector, “in particular” the insurance sector, on Brexit.

The “least damaging approach” to Brexit, Sturgeon said, “is also about reflecting the needs and priorities of businesses across the UK.”

She continued: “We will continue to work with the financial services sector and the insurance sector in particular”

Addressing delegates at the Association of British Insurers’ (ABI) annual conference, Sturgeon said it maded sense for the UK to remain in the customs union and single market.

Commenting on Labour’s advocation of a bespoke customs union yesterda, Sturgeon added: “I suspect  that was the start of the journey for the Labour party towards more of a single market position.”
