The annual survey that underpins Insurance Times’ Five Star Rating Report: MGA Market is now open for UK general insurance brokers to share their views on this subsector of the market
Insurance Times has launched its annual MGA survey, which will anonymously poll UK general insurance (UKGI) brokers on their service experiences with MGA partners over the last 12 months.
The results from 2025’s survey, delivered in association with trade body the Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), will underpin Insurance Times’ Five Star Rating Report: MGA Market 2025, which will be published later this year.
This year’s survey quizzes brokers on their service experience with MGAs, market regulation, placement strategies, technological innovation, quote speed and how MGAs can support brokers through soft market conditions – to name a few key areas of investigation.
Mike Keating, chief executive at the MGAA, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Insurance Times on [its] 2025 MGA survey.
”MGAs continue to increase their share of brokers’ wallet through innovative specialist underwriting expertise accompanied by unrivalled levels of service.
”Their continued success and agility are founded on forensically understanding brokers and their customers’ needs, so completion of this survey will significantly contribute to ensuring that their propositions remain timely, relevant and, where possible, futureproofed for the mutual benefit of all parties.”
What happened last year?
More than 1,800 brokers participated in 2024’s MGA survey, to rate their MGA partners’ service across the prior 12 months. Broker respondents additionally gave feedback on MGAs’ products, the quality of support they received from MGAs, quality of underwriting, technological ability and capacity, among other metrics.
Last year, Lorega, MPR Underwriting, Renovation Underwriting, Generis Underwriting, CFC Underwriting and Bespoke Group were all awarded five stars by broker respondents for their service performance. To review the full results behind these scores, click here.
