‘This is a vote of confidence from our capacity providers that we are being trusted to write policies at this higher limit,’ says chief executive
Ventis, the commercial and residential real estate MGA, has expanded its underwriting capability by increasing its line size to £70m per building or asset.
The move, announced on 20 August 2025, means Ventis can now write single properties at one of the largest capacity levels currently available in the MGA market, according to Ventis.
Gareth Roberts, chief executive at Ventis, said the capacity uplift would directly benefit brokers and their clients.
He explained: “Our partnerships with our brokers are the backbone of Ventis. This increase stems directly from listening to our brokers and their clients, who told us that they needed higher coverage limits to adequately protect their properties.
”We’ve made this happen because we believe in backing our customers with the coverage they actually need.”
Roberts added that the increase signalled a strengthening of support from Ventis’ insurer partners.
“We now have one of the largest capacities in the MGA market, which means we have all of the ingredients to be a leading insurance partner to our brokers,” he said.
Widening footprint
The MGA stressed that while its capacity had risen significantly, underwriting processes would remain “straightforward” with decision-making kept fast.

Ventis has been seeking to widen its footprint in the mid-market space and earlier this summer launched on eTrading platform Acturis, giving brokers wider access to its property proposition.
Founded to target SME and mid-sized property risks often overlooked by larger insurers, Ventis has built its strategy on broker distribution and a focus on standard commercial and residential risks.
