’Her strong focus on customer outcomes and developing high performing teams makes her exceptionally well placed to lead property and casualty claims into its next chapter,’ says chief operating officer

Intact Insurance has appointed Vicky Walker as its vice president of property and casualty claims.

In her new role, Walker will report to UK and Ireland chief operating officer Karl Helgesen.

She makes the move from her current position as claims supply chain and shared services director at the insurer, which she took up in March 2025.

Intact said the appointment supported the insurer’s continued focus on enhancing its commercial claims capability and delivering consistent service for brokers and customers.

Long-standing experience

Having joined Intact in 2001, Walker has coveted various positions at the firm, starting as a motor, construction and liability claims handler.

She also served as development leader, claims change business partner for commercial, complex and supply chain and head of claims change.

Commenting on the new appointment, Helgesen said: “Walker has been with the business for 25 years and brings deep operational expertise and leadership experience.

“Her strong focus on customer outcomes and developing high performing teams makes her exceptionally well placed to lead property and casualty claims into its next chapter.”
