Whiting has been at Aviva since 2017, most recently working alongside Dave Martin as business manager for Aviva’s distribution and commercial business.

Taking the second place spot was the news that Aviva had restructured its global corporate and specialty leadership team as it announced that Matt Washington will exit the business.

Meanwhile, a new MGA providing cover to manufacturing businesses and unoccupied properties has been launched.

Called Elitium, it will be led by co-chief executives Linda Bichener, former commercial underwriting manager at Dual, and Leah Miller, former senior commercial trading underwriter at Dual.

Another people move crept into the top five as Hiscox UK appointed Anish Jadav as its new chief underwriting officer this week.

Jadav replaces Ben Horton, who became global head of propositions at Hiscox last year, while Pete Treloar oversaw responsibility as interim UK chief underwriting officer in between.

In regulation news, the FCA confirmed its insurance sector priorities for 2026 in the first iteration of its new annual Regulatory Priorities report, which replaces the former practice of sending biennial c.45 portfolio letters.

In the document, the regulator said it was focused on ”improving consumer understanding, claims handling and service quality”, as well as increasing access to insurance, supporting growth and innovation in the sector and simplifying regulation for 2026.
