Bayles previously served as chief commercial officer at the business. However, Richard Tuplin, who was the previous general insurance broking chief executive, left in December 2025.

This week also saw Aviva appoint Chris Cochrane as its new group chief information officer.

Cochrane, who currently services as group chief information technology officer at M&G, will take on the role in the summer of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Meanwhile, Hiscox UK appointed Anish Jadav as its new chief underwriting officer.

In his new role, Jadav will shape the underwriting strategy of the UK retail business and lead a team of specialist UK-based underwriters.

Then, Aviva restructured its global corporate and specialty (GCS) leadership team as it announced that Matt Washington will exit the business.

Washington served as managing director of GCS at the insurer. He was also chief executive at Probitas, which Aviva acquired in July 2024.

Finally, Intact Insurance appointed Vicky Walker as its vice president of property and casualty claims.

In her new role, Walker will report to UK and Ireland chief operating officer Karl Helgesen.
