Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, hires and leadership developments from 16 to 20 February 2026
Among moves this week was Kerry Myles being appointed Aviva branch manager for the south east, taking responsibility for the insurer’s newly defined regional structure spanning Kent, Sussex and Surrey, as well as Southampton and Thames Valley.

Myles reports to Jake Algar, head of trading for London and the south east. Myles assumes the role from 16 March 2026, providing permanent leadership following an interim management arrangement.
Lloyd’s named Fiona Luck and Sean McGovern as deputy chairs of its council, replacing outgoing postholders. Luck also took on the role of senior independent director, subject to regulatory approval.
The council oversees the management and supervision of the Lloyd’s market and elects deputy chairs annually from among its members.
Gallagher appointed Adriana Carvalho Assuncao as a director within its private equity and M&A practice.
Assuncao brings more than a decade of international tax and transactional experience, focusing on cross-border deals and corporate structuring.
BMS Group established a dedicated accident and health division in London, led by James Early as managing director.
The new unit was formed alongside several supporting hires to broaden the broker’s ability to serve clients across multiple territories and specialist risk classes.
Finally, Hiscox introduced its first technology graduate programme as part of a wider push to strengthen digital capability and innovation.
The scheme features two pathways – one focused on engineering and another exploring the broader business impact of technology – with participants completing an 18-month rotation across areas such as data science, cyber security and agile delivery.
The programme launched with its first cohort across London, Lisbon and York, with further expansion planned through 2027.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
