Phil Bunker will be promoted to managing director of broker-only insurer NIG in spring 2001 after John Carrier announced he was stepping down after five years in the role.
Bunker has been at NIG for 11 years and is currently director of personal lines. He is immediately promoted to deputy managing director at the insurer.
Carrier was unwilling to disclose his plans for the future but said he was hoping to find a challenge to keep the adrenaline flowing.
“Over the last couple of year the management team has run the operating divisions very effectively allowing me to concentrate on securing a new shareholder that supported our vision and strategy,” Carrier said.
“The task is now complete and the company is superbly positioned to benefit from the upturn in the market.”
