Laws and Darling join NIG North East team

Appoint, appointment, hand, handshake, shake, new, join

NIG has appointed Mick Laws as senior business manager and Jamie Darling as development underwriter to its team in the North East.

Laws joins from Chartis, where he spent five years as a business development manager. He will report to NIG area business development manager Steve Scott.

Darling was previously Chartis commercial combined underwriter. He will report to NIG area underwriting manager Chris Robinson.

Scott said: “Mick brings with him a wealth of insurance experience as well as excellent local contacts and relationships, and I know he will significantly enhance NIG’s proposition in the North East.”

 

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
