Zurich's former european head of business delivery switches to NIG

NIG has appointed Chris Woollam as head of key accounts.

Reporting to NIG’s director of sales and distribution, Dave Parry, Woollham will be responsible for developing the insurer’s key account proposition and distribution strategies and managing the company’s key account team – located across the UK.

He joins NIG from Zurich Insurance, where he worked for nine years, most recently as european head of business delivery.

Parry said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris to the team. He has a strong background in developing and managing broker business, distribution strategies and relationship building. His appointment demonstrates the importance we place on our key account relationships, ensuring we continue to offer them an efficient and relevant service.

"Chris’ recruitment represents part of our ongoing investment in our broker sales force. NIG now has more broker facing staff than we did a year ago and Chris will have a strong key accounts team around him. Our aim is to grow our key account revenue profitably and build mutually beneficial relationships. Chris’ experience and expertise will help us to further enhance our offering to key accounts and grow our share of this important area of business.”

Woolham added: “NIG is a great broker brand and the company is very ambitious in the key account space. The company has completely revamped its regional sales and underwriting proposition in the last 12 months and there is huge potential for our key account managers to develop business within this new framework.

"The development and trading nature of this role really appeals to me and I am looking forward to the challenge of ensuring NIG continues to grow in the key account market.”
