Former NIG director to help steer Sterling’s household and commercial business growth

Sterling Insurance has hired former NIG director of sales and distribution Dave Parry (pictured) as a consultant to help the insurer develop its household and commercial business.

Parry was among 70 staff to exit NIG in October last year as part of a restructuring programme that saw the appointment of two new sales and distribution directors to replace him and cover the north and south of the country separately.

He returned to the insurance market in December with the launch of his own consultancy, Integrity, which he said would aim to offer strategic support to insurers and brokers “seeking to grow market share and improve their value proposition”.

Parry has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry having worked for the likes of Royal Insurance, Zurich, AIG and Direct Line Group.

Sterling Insurance head of personal lines and commercial David Sweeney said: “We are delighted to have someone of Dave’s calibre working alongside us to assist us with the development of our household and commercial arm. His experience and expertise can help us tremendously with our growth strategy.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
