Markerstudy chief executive Kevin Spencer is gutted that his beloved Chelsea has been snatched away from his grasp by Russian oil magnate Roman Abramovich.

Spencer, who reckons that he is worth more than £60m, has often talked about buying Chelsea.

Those who know him know that he was talking only half in jest.

But even Spencer's millions were no match for the billionaire Russian.

So what's Spencer going to do with his wealth now.

Well, he has already bought a restaurant in Gibraltar and several Lloyd's syndicates, but Backchat hears that he has always had a soft spot for York City FC, after working in the city for years.

The Minstermen went into administration in December 2002, but were bought back by their supporters' club.

Perhaps Spencer can make them an offer they cannot refuse.
