David Ballard appointed chief executive of Northdoor

IT consultancy Northdoor has appointed David Ballard as its new chief executive.

Ballard is aiming to further increase Northdoor’s footprint in financial services and grow its presence in the Lloyd’s and group life insurance markets.

Ballard said: “This is a pivotal moment in Northdoor’s development. Under the leadership of Peter Bedells, our former chief executive and now the deputy chairman, we’ve built a reputation for excellence in serving our client base.

"Now we want to push on further and expand our offering and the markets which we serve. Our focus is on four key areas which our clients need our help with: helping our clients to grow, supporting start-ups, risk and compliance and operational efficiency.”

Ballard joined the Northdoor board as the consultancy director in 1995 when his boutique IT consultancy company, Firecrest, was acquired by Northdoor.

Prior to that he worked for Marsh, running the IT function for the front office in New York.

Rob Stavrou will take over Ballard's former role as director of Northdoor’s consultancy practice.
