Novae Group has appointed Charles Fry as chief financial officer.

Fry was previously an adviser to insurer ANV on their acquisition of Lloyd’s Syndicate 1861 from Flagstone Re, and before that was Guy Carpenter chief operating officer.

He will take up his new role no later than the second quarter of 2013.

Previous Novae chief financial officer Oliver Corbett announced his departure in August for LCH Clearnet, and Novae director of finance Mark Hudson will fill the role until Fry joins.

Novae group chief executive Matthew Fosh said: “In the past three years, we have focussed on driving up returns within the business. In the next three years, our focus will shift towards developing growth areas within the business, and Charles has precisely the mix of knowledge and experience needed to help us do that.”

Fry said: “I am delighted to be joining Novae at such an exciting time for the company. I look forward to working with Matthew and the rest of the team to help capitalise on the significant growth opportunities that lie ahead for Novae.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
