Alan Tomlinson joins from Liberty to head motor and liability
Novae Re has announced Liberty Syndicate’s Alan Tomlinson as unit head of motor and general liability, joining underwriter Iain Russell for the firm’s 1 January start.
Tomlinson said: “There has been a good showing of business already and I am delighted to be back in the market and to be part of the exciting growth opportunity that Novae Re presents.”
Prior to being at Liberty Tomlinson had underwriting roles at Converium and Gerling.

Novae announced the formation of its reinsurance division, Novae Re, in August. It will begin writing business from 1 January 2010, focusing on property, motor, liability, agriculture, engineering and other specialty business.
