Polaris has said it will begin pilot studies on its Emarket system in June.

Polaris sales and marketing manager Martin McLachlan said that the pilots are scheduled to last for three months and would be followed by integration into the wider market.

Early reports said that the pilot launch of Emarket would be March, but McLaughlan denied it.

Emarket is a web-based tool that would allow brokers to access all of the insurer-members' websites with one log-in. It will also feature common proposal forms that will allow brokers to access quotes from members without having to re-key information.

Brokers on Polaris's intermediary advisory forum - including AA, Alec Finch, Coversure, Giles, Hill House Hammond, Layton Blackham and Perkins Slade - will be the first to test the portal.
