Solihull broker Carl Burns was given a year's suspended sentence in Birmingham Crown Court on Friday for his part in a Porsche insurance scam.

The director of City Underwriting Agencies had already pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to obtain £62,000 by deception from Wellington Motor Policies and one count of attempting to obtain £62,000 by deception from Royal & Sunalliance.

After his appearance, Burns said he wanted to put the case, which he blamed on an administrative error, behind him.
